Eligibility

To be eligible to apply, applicants must be:

  • Artists who are mid-career or established with a minimum 5 years demonstrated professional practice. Please refer to NAVA definitions of career stages for more information.
  • Individuals who live, work or volunteer in the City of Port Phillip; (see live or work eligibility definitions in the Guidelines)
  • Individuals applying with a not-for-profit auspice organisation
  • Able to provide an Auspice Organisation ABN and signed auspice letter of intention to auspice
  • Proof of public liability to $20 (provided by your auspice organisation) for public outcomes

Working With First Peopes

The traditional boundaries that make up the City of Port Phillip belong to the Bunurong People, Boon Wurrung People and the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People of the wider Kulin Nation; with Bunurong People and Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People being formally recognised as Registered Aboriginal Parties.

Please follow appropriate cultural protocols when engaging with Traditional Owner Groups, this is particularly important for projects and activities that include Indigenous elements, First Peoples participation or initiatives that require engaging with Traditional Owners through a consultation process.

If your answer is yes, you must upload evidence of community consultation or evidence of appropriate cultural permissions in the Support Material section p7 of this application

Child Safe Standards

The City of Port Phillip has zero tolerance for child abuse and we are a committed Child Safe organisation. Our commitment is to ensure that a culture of child safety is embedded across our community to safeguard every child and young person accessing City of Port Phillip. All grant applications that work directly with children and young people are required to comply with legislation and regulations relating to child safety including but not limited to the Working with Children Act 2005 and the Working with Children Regulations 2016 and the Victorian Child Safe Standards (CSS) .
All grant applications that work directly with children and young people that are not compliant with the Victorian Child Safe Standards or be actively working towards compliance to the satisfaction of the Commission for Children and Young People, will not be eligible to receive funding under the Community Grant Program.
